The Sweet Itch Line from Bucas is made from a specially developed fabric that blocks entry from even the smallest of insects.
The Bucas Sweet Itch rugs offer relief to horses that suffer from summer eczema. Particular attention has been paid to the mane and tail areas ensuring that they are protected to prevent the itch – scratch cycle that is synonymous with Sweet Itch.
The design is a full body cover, with a neck that reaches to the ears covering the whole mane area. An elasticated, detachable belly flap covers from the elbow to the sheath, offering protection to the horse’s whole body.
Available in Silver/Blue and Zebra stripes which helps confuses the flies as proven by scientists. The rug also helps prevent the coat from getting bleached.

The Sweet-Itch X Light is an extra deep Sweet-itch protective rug that combines an upper part in a solid polyester fabric for maximum protection and a lower part in a mesh fabric offering both fly protection and good air circulation. The extra deep sides of the rug helps to keep flies away and also helps the air to circulate around the legs of the horse.
The unique belly wrap is secured with 3 surcingles and protects this sensitive area from flies.
The integrated cap helps keep the neck of the rug in place while the horse is turned out in their paddock and keeps the ears free for those horses who don’t like their ears covered and gives the option to still use a fly mask for those horses who prefer their ears covered!
